70% Of Foxconn Land Acquired by Mt Pleasant

The Mt Pleasant Village Board approved land contracts this week which when finalized will mean the village will own 70% of the land needed for the massive facility. Also this week the Milwaukee Common Council approved a resolution 12-3 which directs the city attorney to seek ways to exempt Milwaukee residents from paying for electrical infrastructure for the plant. American Transmission Company has said that it will cost $140 million to add power lines and substations for the plant, which will be paid for by about 5 million customers over nearly four decades. Foxconn is expected to use enough power daily to power 170,000 homes, that’s six times more than the next largest factory in the state.
