Alternate Side Parking Begins Wednesday

Alternate-side parking will begin this week in Kenosha. Police will ticket violators at $30 a pop and their vehicles may be towed. So, starting Thursday, from 1 – 6 a.m. on even-numbered days, all cars in Kenosha must park on the side of the street with even numbered addresses. Likewise, on odd-numbered days, Kenosha drivers must park on the odd-numbered side of the road. The rules for alternate-side parking begin Thursday, and run through March 31st. Police say the number of violators of the rules have increased each of the last three years.  Authorities said they issued roughly 12-thousand citations for alternate-side street parking violations during its 2015 enforcement period.
