City Approves Deal to Buy and Raze Buildings

The Kenosha City Council approved a plan Monday that would purchase several old building downtown. The buildings at 5801 Sixth Ave.;  5911 Fifth Ave.;  5907 Fifth Ave.; and 409 59th St will all be purchased and razed. The land will then be marked for future development. The council unanimously approved $7.9 million to finance the deal. There’s no word on when deconstruction could begin.
