Former Inmate Files Lawsuit Against County

A former jail inmate is seeking damages from Kenosha County, claiming she suffered a seizure because she was denied medication by jail staff. The suit was filed in October for an incident that took place in 2010. According to the suit filed by Brenda Py, she was arrested in October 2010 and held in the Kenosha County Jail for three days. The suit states she was prescribed a number of prescription medications for a seizure disorder and a serious mental disorder, and she made jail staff aware of her need for those medications. The suit alleges that she was not given the medications for three days and that she subsequently had a seizure as she was being released from jail. The suit is seeking unspecified damages from the county. It is included on the Kenosha County Board’s Tuesday night agenda.
