Hass Named New Carthage Head Football Coach

The Carthage Red Men Varsity football team will have a new head coach next year. Dustin Hass has been promoted from defensive coordinator to head coach replacing Mike Yeager. Yeager is leaving Carthage for Division II Tiffin University in Ohio. Offensive Coordinator Kyle Rooker has an addition title now as Assistant Coach. Yeager turned the program around in five-plus years. After going 1-9 during his first full year (2013), the Red Men posted back-to-back 7-3 seasons in 2016-17. The consecutive seven-win seasons were the first by the program since 2004-05. Yeager accumulated a 23-30 record at Carthage, tying him for the fifth-most wins by a coach, behind Art Keller, Tim Rucks, Lewis Omer, and J. Arthur Baird.
