Health Center Investigation Worries County Officials

A federal investigation into the Kenosha Community Health Center could hurt the county’s ability to win local, state and federal grants to expand health care. Kenosha County Board Supervisor Terry Rose, chairman of the board’s Finance Committee, said the Kenosha County Department of Human Services and the health center recently partnered for a grant to expand the county’s mental health facilities. He said the Kenosha City Council’s decision to request an investigation into the center’s operations would complicate matters. The City Council voted Monday night to formally request a federal investigation into the nonprofit agency regarding staffing and their adherence to the Public Health Service Act.
