Kenosha to Consider “Super Station”

The city of Kenosha could get a “super fire station” next year. Two fire stations would close and merge into a “super” station at the shuttered Bain Elementary School on 52nd St. The two stations considered for closure are Station 3, on Roosevelt Road, and Station 5, on Washington Road. According to Ald. Rocco LaMacchia, chairman of the Public Safety & Welfare Committee, said Station 5 is not able to accommodate large fire trucks and is in desperate need of repair. The Public Works Committee will take up the plan this evening. It is expected to cost millions of dollars.
