New Info on Teenage Pedestrian Hit and Killed

A 19-year-old man was killed trying to cross Washington Road Monday evening. Kenosha Police said Lavonta McMath had gotten off work at a nearby McDonald’s and was walking home along Washington when he tried to cross the four-lane road east of Green Bay Road. He was struck by a car driven by a 20-year-old Kenosha man who was eastbound on the 5500 block of Washington. The road is a wide boulevard there, with no crosswalks or sidewalks. The Kenosha Fire Department was unable to revive McMath, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Kenosha Police Lt. Thomas Hamm said the driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
