Police Identify Pedestrian Killed on Interstate

The man killed while walking on Interstate 94 last week has been identified as 30-year-old Joshua Hockersmith of Burlington. Investigators are not sure why the victim was crossing the busy highway around 3 Thursday morning. Hockersmith was reportedly walking in the southbound lanes near State Highway 158. He was struck and killed by an SUV driven by a 30-year-old man from Milwaukee. The driver of the vehicle, and the 29-year-old year old woman who was with him in the car, were uninjured. There is no evidence that alcohol or excessive speed was a factor for the driver of the vehicle that struck the man.
