School Treasurer Pleads Guilty to Taking Funds

The former treasurer of the Randall School parent-teacher organization pleaded guilty Monday to stealing from the group. 45-year-old Terra Mener, of Twin Lakes, is facing charges of theft from a business setting, a felony. According to the criminal complaint, Mener shifted approximately $25,000 from the club’s bank accounts in a series of transactions from 2011 through 2013. The club’s president became suspicious and confronted Mener, who confessed to taking the money to pay for a prescription drug addiction. The club president brought her concerns to Twin Lakes Police, and Mener was arrested in September. If convicted, she could spend 10 years in prison.
