Search for New Fire Chief Continues

The city of Kenosha is still vetting the handful of candidates in the running to become Kenosha’s new fire chief. On Tuesday, the Police & Fire Commission will be given a review of the hiring process. Two days later, the candidates are scheduled to go through a second assessment with an outside agency helping with the job search. After that, the commission is expected to evaluate the candidates. None of the candidates have been named, but all of them are from within the department. The commission opted to look at internal candidates rather than doing a nationwide search. When hired, the new chief will replace John Thomsen, who retired in July after 32 years with the department.
