Shooting Threat Discovered At Lance Middle School

Another shooting threat was discovered at a Kenosha school yesterday. The written threat was found in a classroom at Lance Middle School sometime between 3 and 4 PM. Kenosha Police were called and, along with the school’s administration, they found who was responsible for the threat. District officials say that the student who made the threat will face discipline. In Salem Lakes, school officials heard concerns from parents about the information that received during a recent threat at the school. A false report to emergency services last month caused the Salem Grade School to go on lockdown. The parents asked if in the future more details could be disseminated through the school’s text alert system. Area school districts-including Salem Lakes and Kenosha Unified-have been making plans to train parents on their active shooter response system. Salem Elementary parents said that they were not given information that the lockdown did not stem from a threat in the school building, and some even reached out to law enforcement officials to find out their children were o.k; and that the threat was a hoax.
