Threat Discovered at Pleasant Prairie School

Today at 12:57 p.m., the Pleasant Prairie Police Department was notified of a written threat that was discovered in a bathroom at Lakeview Technology Academy located at 9449 88th Avenue, in Pleasant Prairie. The Pleasant Prairie Police School Resource officer was at the school when the threat was located. Immediate action was taken by the school and students were kept in their classrooms for the remainder of the school day. Students were dismissed at the regular time of 2:38 p.m. Additional Pleasant Prairie Police resources were assigned to the school while the threat was being investigated. There is no imminent danger to staff and students at this time.

The Pleasant Prairie Police department is working closely with LakeView Technology Academy and Kenosha Unified School District as they continue their investigation to identify the source of the threat. The Pleasant Prairie Police Department is devoting extra attention and resources to the schools in Pleasant Prairie after the incident occurred in Florida yesterday, and they will continue these efforts for the foreseeable future.
