Air Testing to Continue Near Gurnee, Waukegan Plants

(Waukegan, IL) Air testing will be extended for 30 days near a Waukegan and Gurnee plant.
The tests are being performed outside a Medline facility in Waukegan, and a Vantage Specialty Chemicals plant in Gurnee to test the amount of ethylene oxide in the air. The chemical has been known to cause cancer.
The extended testing period was granted, because both plants are performing improvements in the hopes of reducing EtO in the air. The extra 30 days will be used to determine if the improvements are working.
