PLEASANT PRAIRIE—The Pleasant Prairie Village Board approved a measure this week to hire an architectural firm to handle master planning and development coordination for the new Village Green Center.

The board voted 5-0 to approve a 257-thousand dollar contract with Milwaukee based, Rinka that will design a new downtown type hub for the community.

A seven month process led to the conceptual planning for the project which includes an outdoor amphitheater, restaurants, shops, and more.

The area will be bordered by Highway 165, 97th Street, 39th and 47th avenues, covering about 188 acres. Most of that area is undeveloped and owned by the Village but some private land will have to be obtained. The firm will begin work in the next few weeks.
