Charges Filed Against Lake County Jail Corrections Officer

(Waukegan, IL) A Lake County Jail Corrections officer is facing two felony charges, after an investigation by Sheriff’s officials.
Authorities say Manuel Duarte is accused of modifying electronic time cards several times between November of 2017 and into this year.
Officials say the falsifications led Duarte to receive over 20-thousand-dollars for hours he didn’t work. He now faces one felony count of theft, and one felony count of official misconduct.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office says they have also initiated the termination process for the Corrections officer.
