(Gurnee, IL) A two county police chase over the weekend, ended with an arrest in Lake County. Officials say the incident touched off with an armed robbery in Chicago on Saturday evening that was allegedly committed by Norbert Thigpen. The money was said to have a tracker and police were able to keep up with the 36-year-old as he drove north into Lake County along I-94, pursued by multiple police vehicles and a helicopter. As the chase continued more law enforcement joined in…Thigpen then turned around near the state line and went southbound on 94, before finally being arrested near Gurnee. Chicago Police have charged the suspect with two counts of armed robbery and aggravated fleeing to elude. It’s unclear if he will face charges in Lake County.
