Civil War Days Canceled Again, Citing “Security Concerns”

(Wauconda, IL) Lake County’s annual Civil War Days is off again, after Lake County Board President Angelo Kyle cited “security concerns.”
Kyle tried to unilaterally cancel the event earlier, saying it had run it’s course…at least one other activist called the re-enactment racist, because of the use of Confederate flags.
What exact security concerns led to the cancelation are unknown. Some board members say the worst concerns they were presented with, were possible protests.
Also, despite saying law enforcement was contacted about possible threats at the event, Lake County Sheriff’s officials say they were never contacted.
