KENOSHA, WI—16th District County Board Supervisor Daniel Esposito has been arrested for alleged retail theft.

Esposito was taken into custody Saturday after an apparent reported theft at a local Menards store.

Kenosha Police recommended charges in the case, which was referred to an outside prosecutor from Walworth County to avoid any conflict of interest.

Esposito faces a charge of felony theft for items valued at $500 or more.

The Kenosha News reports that Esposito allegedly left the store parking lot without paying for construction supplies, however no official details about the incident have been released.

Esposito was released from jail and did not post bond. No charges have officially been filed.
