Defendant Rejects Plea Deal; Testimony Begins Tuesday In K9 Shooting Case

By Pete Serzant, WLIP News

KENOSHA, WI (WLIP)–Jury selection was Monday in the case of an Illinois man accused of shooting a Kenosha County Sheriff’s K9 officer.

Allan Brown of Countryside faces nine felonies in connection with the October 2021 incident.

Among those charges are three counts of recklessly endangering safety, mistreatment of a law enforcement animal, as well as attempting to escape arrest among other charges.

Court records indicate that Brown rejected a plea deal in which he would have pleaded guilty to the most serious charges while others would be dropped.

When the court was informed that Brown rejected the deal jury selection began and was completed in less than an hour.

Testimony is set to begin this morning.
