Djurkovic Retires As Carthage Head Coach

KENOSHA, WI (WLIP)—Carthage College’s Men’s Basketball team will have a new coach next season.

After 24 years on the bench for the Red Men, Bosco Djurkovic  has announced his retirement effective August 1st. His son, Steve-currently the team’s assistant coach-will take over as the 22nd coach in team history.

In his time as coach, Djurkovic won five conference championships, and went to the Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight, and Final Four at the Division three level. All but one of those conference championships was with Carthage.

He is in the top 30 among N-C-Double A coaches with wins at five hundred sixty-seven.

Steve Djurkovic is a Kenosha native and played for his dad in a Red Men uniform from 2007 until 2011.
