Early Morning Fire Destroys Detached Garage in Pleasant Prairie

Pleasant Prairie, WI (WLIP)–A fire broke out early Monday morning, completely destroying a detached garage-pole barn on the 6000 block of 93rd Street in Pleasant Prairie.

The incident was reported at 2:43 AM, prompting a response from the Pleasant Prairie Fire and Police Departments.

Dispatch brought in automatic mutual aid from surrounding agencies and additional units to cover other calls.

Fire crews initially launched an offensive attack but quickly switched to a defensive approach due to the building being packed with combustibles, and the threat of a roof collapse.

A backhoe tractor on-site was used to overhaul the structure and reach the fire’s core.

Despite their efforts, the building and its contents were a total loss.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
