Felon Arrested After Attempted Shooting at Antioch Bar; Gun Malfunctions, Suspect Faces Multiple Charges

Antioch, IL (WLIP)—Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a felon after he allegedly attempted to shoot security staff at a bar in Unincorporated Antioch on Friday night.

At around 10:30 p.m., 37 year old Ronald X. Owens, Jr., of Lisle, and 42 year old Edwin Roddy of Waukegan, were removed from the bar for being disruptive.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department says that the suspects returned with a firearm.

Owens is accused of attempting to shoot security, but his gun malfunctioned.

Both men were detained by deputies, with Owens facing multiple weapon charges and Roddy charged with battery.

Owens was due in court, while Roddy was released with a court date set for September 4.
