MT PLEASANT, WI—Foxconn began pouring the concrete foundations and footings for their Gen 6 manufacturing facility in Mt Pleasant.

The work begins less than a year since the ceremonial groundbreaking  at the nearly 989,000 square foot facility. Work on the foundations are set to go on through the summer.

The Mt Pleasant Plan Commission gave preliminary approval for the vertical construction at the site, in three different areas between Highways KR and 11 and from I-94 to east of Highway H.

Still, Foxconn officials say that the finer details of the construction plan remains a “work in progress” and that the company wants to be “flexible” while staying within village ordinances.
