Gurnee Explorer Advisor/CSO Fired and Charged

(Gurnee, IL) Police in Gurnee have announced charges against a former Community Service Officer and Police Explorers Associate Advisor.
Authorities say they were notified back in March that Mitchell Rowan was having inappropriate contact with minors through text messages and social media.
Rowan was immediately fired and an investigation was launched. It was determined that the 23-year-old was communicating with victims that were 16-years of age.
Rowan was arrested Tuesday and charged with three felony counts of possession of child pornography. Bond was set at 100-thousand-dollars.
