PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI–A chase of a runaway driver yesterday reached in excess of 80 miles per hour but the suspect got away on foot. The incident began when a Pleasant Prairie officer initiated a traffic stop on 39th ave near 104th street just before 1:15 PM.

The vehicle failed to stop for the officer and fled striking two other occupied vehicles in the 117-thousand block of 39th Avenue. The suspect vehicle then lost control and went into a ditch. The suspect is described as an African-American male, between 20 to 25 years of age.

After the crash he fled on foot into the nearby neighborhoods. Officers set up a perimeter and used a K-9s to search. Narcotics and a handgun were located in the suspect’s vehicle. At 3 PM, the search was called off.

No suspect is in custody and he is believed to have fled the area.
