Holy Rosary hosted its 66th annual Sports Night and Dinner of Champions Sunday, honoring its outstanding male and female athletes of the year. This year Kevin Brenner, who played football and three other sports for Wilmot and Sydney Strelow, a multi-sport athlete for Bradford took home the awards. Brenner told WLIP News that it’s an honor to be recognized.

Strelow says that the history of the event adds to the significance.

This year marked the 40th anniversary of the first Female Athlete of the Year, with over half of the former winners in attendance for this year’s event.

Sport Night’s special guests included Packers Running Back Aaron Jones, Brewers catcher Erik Kratz, and USA Women’s Hockey Captain and Gold Medalist Meghan Duggan. Duggan says that it’s hard to believe that almost a year has past since winning gold, and emphasized the importance of supporting and recognizing student athletes

Kratz says that with pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring Training this week, he’s excited for the changes his team has made during the off season.
