KENOSHA, WI (WLIP)–An Illinois man is set to stand trial in Kenosha County this week.

Alan Brown of Countryside in Cook County, is charged with allegedly shooting Kenosha County Sheriff’s K9 Riggs during a pursuit in October 2021.

Brown was wanted in Illinois for two homicides when he was spotted near the intersection of Highways 45 and 50.

Brown tried to flee from deputies on foot when Riggs gave chase.

Brown allegedly shot Riggs before the other deputies returned fire striking Brown.

Riggs survived and was released from the hospital days later.

Brown faces numerous felonies in connection with the Kenosha County case and he faces other charges in cases separate from the October incident.

The trial is expected to last about a week.
