Kenosha County Covid Update-Thursday 7/16/2020

KENOSHA, WI (WLIP)—Kenosha County reported thirty-five new cases of Covid-19 Wednesday. No new deaths were reported so the county’s total is forty-seven.

However, the daily percentage of positive cases has varied wildly over the past several days. Of the tests that came in Wednesday about 20-percent were positive, which is up from single digits the day before.

The Kenosha County Division of Health reports that the seven day moving average of positive cases has dropped precipitously due to the more than 90% positive rate from the weekend. That came as the state set records for new daily Covid-19 cases.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says Kenosha County is dealing with fifteen active cases in long term care facilities and twenty-three active cases involving a non-medical workplace.

Wisconsin has more than thirty-eight thousand seven hundred positive cases and eight hundred twenty seven deaths after one new fatality was reported Wednesday.

Statewide there are thirty one hospitalizations and seventy-seven percent of cases are considered recovered.
