KENOSHA, WI (WLIP)–Kenosha County’s communities are set to receive millions of dollars in federal funds as part of the latest Covid relief bill.

In the American Rescue Act recently signed into law by President Joe Biden-municipalities in Kenosha County will receive 67-point-6 million dollars-which in the city of Kenosha equals about 278 dollars per person.

The city gets almost 28 million dollars while the county government gets almost 33 million dollars.

State Senator Bob Wirch told WLIP’s Wake Up Kenosha that he’s happy with the amount of money Kenosha is receiving.

Not all local elected officials are so pleased with the plan as Congressman Byran Steil said in a statement that the law “shortchanges” Kenosha County.
