Kenosha Homicide Suspect Arrested in Texas
KENOSHA, Wis. (WLIP) — Lawrence G. Franklin Jr., wanted for a double homicide in Kenosha, was arrested Thursday by federal marshals in Plano, Texas.
Kenosha Police say Franklin, 25, was apprehended by the United States Marshal Service’s Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force with assistance from the Plano Police Department.
He is accused of killing Amiah Prather, a 22-year-old mother of three, and her unborn daughter, Honesti.
Police said the victim and Franklin knew each other, and the killing was not a random act.
Authorities had been seeking Franklin since September.
Franklin is expected to attend an extradition hearing in Texas before being transported back to Kenosha to face charges.
The Kenosha Police Department praised the collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies in locating and arresting Franklin.
