Family: Shooting of 5 Year Old Boy Accidental

KENOSHA, WI—Kenosha Police are investigating the shooting death of a 5 year old boy. The incident happened Monday afternoon around 1:40 PM.

Officials at Froedtert Hospital-Kenosha Campus contacted officers after the boy was left at the hospital by two individuals. He had suffered a gunshot wound at a residence near 60th street and 20th avenue, and was later pronounced dead.

The two people were located by police and interviewed. A man who identified himself as the victim’s grandfather says that his sons brought the boy to the hospital.

The man says that the shooting was accidental. Police believe that they have recovered the gun from the incident. There is no ongoing threat to the public and police say they will release more details in the case later on.
