Kenosha Police Seek Community’s Help in Locating Homicide Suspect

Kenosha, WI (WLIP)–The Kenosha Police Department’s Major Investigative Group is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Lawrence G. Franklin Jr. (12/01/98), wanted for the homicide of 22-year-old Amiah Prather and her unborn baby girl, Honesti.

Investigators have confirmed that Franklin and Prather knew each other, making this an alleged targeted act rather than a random incident.

Authorities emphasize that Franklin should be considered armed and dangerous, and the public is urged not to approach him.

Franklin has a distinctive large tattoo on his neck, along with tattoos on both arms and wrists.

He has known associates in Kenosha, Racine, and South Milwaukee, and was last seen leaving a house near 40th Street and 11th Avenue in Kenosha on Friday evening.

Police are working with federal law enforcement partners and are actively searching for Franklin, urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

Officials also warned that assisting Franklin in avoiding capture is a felony.

Kenosha Police Chief Patrick Patton told WLIP’s Happenings Q and A that they are aware of what the suspect has been doing-and who may be helping him-while on the run.

“This is one of those few times that i also want to put the community at on notice and be very clear that if you’re aiding him, we are aware,” Patton said.

“There’s no way that you can pretend that you don’t know what he has done and what we’re going after him for. We know who’s helping so far, and some have come forward, but those that have helped him haven’t come forward…We’re trying to give them the opportunity to do so right now, and do the right thing, Patton said.”

“But we intend to charge every single person who hasn’t come forward to this point, that has helped him. And any person that helps him moving forward, we absolutely will charge. and arrest and put in jail.”
