Lake County Man Charged After Shooting Himself During “Dream”

(Lake Barrington, IL) A Lake Barrington man is facing charges after he reportedly shot himself earlier this year. Lake County Sheriff’s officials say Mark Dicara was reportedly dreaming that an intruder had entered his home back on April 10th…he claims he retrieved a handgun and shot at the intruder, only to wake up and find that he had shot himself. The 62-year-old was hospitalized and treated for a leg wound, and an investigation took place. Dicara was arrested Monday and charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, and possession of a weapon without a valid firearms card. He’s currently free on bond and due in court at the end of the month.
