Lake County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Fatal Crash in Unincorporated Antioch
ANTIOCH, Ill. (WLIP) — A 37-year-old Wauconda man has died following a single-vehicle crash in unincorporated Antioch.
On Monday at approximately 1:10 p.m., Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the intersection of West Grass Lake Road and Broadway Avenue, where they discovered a heavily damaged GMC Sierra.
Bystanders had removed the driver from the vehicle, and he was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical injuries.
Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to preliminary findings, the GMC was traveling westbound on West Grass Lake Road before veering off the road, striking a utility pole, and rolling over.
An autopsy will be conducted by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation remains ongoing, conducted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.
