KENOSHA, WI–The recent discussion-and disagreement-over awarding cabaret licenses to establishments that have numerous police calls highlights an often overlooked problem in the city. Three people were arrested in two separate incidents last Saturday morning outside of Red Zone on Sheridan Road.

Police were called to deal with a disturbance involving a large group of people and an altercation between some of the patrons.

17th district Alderman David Bogdala told WLIP Wake Up Kenosha that the bar’s owner handled the situation correctly.

Bogdala says bar owners are sometimes hesitant to call the police for fear of putting their license in jeopardy. In most cases though the owner getting out ahead of a problem before it gets out of hand is preferable as opposed to emergency calls after the situation spirals out of control.
