KENOSHA,WI—The final installation of life rings on Kenosha’s North Pier will finally be a reality.

The city received engineering approval for the installation of three life rings after approval came in from the Army Corps of Engineers. The city had been working with the Corps for several months on a lease agreement which will govern the placement of the rings.

The North Pier is owned by the corps but the rings will be maintained by the city.

The life ring placement comes after several tragic drownings that happened in Lake Michigan last summer.
