Lindenhurst Woman Dies Following Motorcycle Crash in Antioch

Antioch, IL (WLIP)–A 48-year-old woman from Lindenhurst, Mechelle Hall, has died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash that occurred on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in unincorporated Antioch.

The crash, involving a 1998 Harley-Davidson, happened near Route 59 and Diemer Street around 8:30 p.m. when Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene.

Hall, a passenger on the motorcycle, was found unconscious and unresponsive in the roadway and was immediately transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Despite receiving medical care at Advocate Condell Medical Center, she succumbed to her injuries on the morning of Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office confirmed that her death was consistent with blunt force injuries resulting from the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.
