Man Arrested For Alleged Drugs; Weapons in Vehicle After Fleeing Traffic Stop

RACINE, WI (WLIP)–An Illinois man was arrested in Wisconsin after allegedly fleeing from law enforcement.

It happened just before 1 AM Sunday on I-94 in Racine County. 42 year old Harold W. Martin of Robbins, Il allegedly fled from Wisconsin State Troopers near Highway 11 and threw what was apparently drugs and a handgun from the vehicle.

The driver then stopped near Highway 20. Despite the tossing of the items, still more drugs and a loaded handgun were reportedly found in the vehicle.

The tossed items were recovered as well. Martin refused a field sobriety test and was arrested on suspicion of 4th OWI.

Among the other charges he faces are felon possession of a firearm, failure to stop; and 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety and THC possession.

The passenger was charged with THC possession.

Both were arrested and spent the weekend in the Racine County Jail.
