Man Run Over After Clinging to Car Hood in Beach Park, Three Taken Into Custody

(Beach Park, IL)  Three people were detained after an incident that started in Beach Park, and ended near Rosemont. Lake County Sheriff’s officials say they were called early Monday morning to an area along Sheridan Road. A deputy saw two vehicles leaving a business at a high rate of speed, one of which had a man clinging to the hood. The deputy tried to stop the vehicle, but the man fell off the hood and was run over…and the suspect vehicle fled. Eventually that car was tracked down near Rosemont, and the 17-year-old female driver (from Winthrop Harbor) and two passengers were taken into custody, though no charges have been detailed. The 19-year-old male victim from Waukegan was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The situation remains under investigation.
