KENOSHA, WI (WLIP)—More retailers are requiring patrons to wear masks. Among them are Kohl’s, Kroger, Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Costco. Kohl’s will enforce the mask requirement beginning on Monday, local Pick N’ Save’s will do the same starting Wednesday.
All of the companies cited the need to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 in their statements announcing the mask requirements. The moves come after one group that represents some major retailers pushed the nation’s governors to mandate mask-wearing for customers in stores.
In an AP interview, Retail Industry Leaders Association president Brian Dodge says they want to make masks mandatory in stores across the country.
Governor Tony Evers has said that he doesn’t think he can legally mandate masks in Wisconsin while Illinois has had the requirement in place now for the past few months.
