Officer Testifies At Trial of Alleged Shooter

KENOSHA, WI (WLIP)–The Kenosha Police officer shot during an incident nearly two years ago testified at the trial of the alleged shooter on Tuesday.

Justin Pruett was shot in the abdomen in August 2020 allegedly by Jonathan Massey during an early morning investigation.

Two shots were fired at the officer, with the first one striking him.

Pruett recounted the moments before and after he was shot while the surgeon that saved the officer’s life testified that the bullet wound was almost fatal.

He said that had the shot been just a few inches higher it would have struck his heart or lungs.

Massey faces several felony charges.
