Paul Ryan Releases First Campaign Ad

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — House Speaker Paul Ryan has released his first general election campaign ad. The spot comes during a tumultuous time for Ryan, even though he faces only token Democratic opposition for the southeastern Wisconsin congressional race. Donald Trump supported heckled Ryan at a Wisconsin rally this month after he pulled his invitation for Trump to attend the event. At a Trump rally in Green Bay on Monday some in the crowd chanted, “Paul Ryan sucks!” Ryan’s campaign ad released Tuesday is called “A Better Way Forward” and focuses on his policy agenda, not the election. Ryan had $9.9 million cash on hand for the final weeks of the race compared with about $5,900 for his Democratic opponent Ryan Solen.
