Union Pacific Employee Struck by Metra Train in Kenosha, Investigation Underway
Kenosha, WI (WLIP)–A Union Pacific employee was fatally struck by a Metra train in Kenosha on Wednesday afternoon.
The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Austin Scott Raysby, a resident of Burlington, Wisconsin.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:15 p.m. near 13th Avenue and 69th Street.
Union Pacific expressed condolences to Raysby’s family and co-workers, while their emergency response team continues to investigate the incident.
Kenosha police detectives are working alongside Union Pacific and Metra officials in the investigation.
No other injuries were reported, and all 20 passengers on the train were safely transported to the Kenosha Metra Station.
Due to the accident, Metra service on the Union Pacific North Line between Kenosha and Waukegan has been temporarily suspended.
