KENOSHA, WI–The cabaret license for a local bar may be revoked after numerous police calls, including a recent shooting that left a man critically injured. Kenosha Police Chief Daniel Miskinis will recommend that MVP Sports Bar on 60th street near 32nd avenue lose its ability to host a DJ.

The move comes after police were called to the establishment 45 times between last November and the end of June for what’s characterized as a pattern of disorderly behavior in and around the bar-especially on nights when the DJs are there. In the June 30th shooting incident, dozens of officers from multiple jurisdictions were called to disperse an unruly and defiant crowd that ultimately prevented a quick response to the shooting victim.

Kenosha’s License and Permit Committee will take up the recommendation Tuesday afternoon. If the license is revoked the owners can appeal the decision.
