Six Arrested For Stealing Hemp From Farm Field

KENOSHA, WI—Six men face felony charges for allegedly stealing hemp that was growing in a Kenosha County field.
21 year old Parker Stanton, 26 year old Richard Olson, 22 year olds Nathanial and Jordan Teddick, 23 year old Matthew Meck, and 28 year old Matthew Luna, all allegedly stole the hemp on at least two separate occasions. They were officially charged this week.
According to the criminal complaint, the men thought it was Marijuana growing in the field. However it was hemp, which is legal to grow and sell in Wisconsin.
There is a growing problem in the area with thefts from hemp fields. The Kenosha News reports that there are 39 farms in Kenosha County that grow hemp, covering 239 acres.
