Trial Delayed In Attempted Homicide Case

Kenosha, WI (WLIP)–A Chicago man will not stand trial this week for allegedly attempting to burn his girlfriend to death.

37 year old Myron Bowie was scheduled to stand trial starting Monday.

On-line court records show that the start of the trial was delayed until January because of evidence discovery issues connected to the case.

Bowie is charged with attempted first degree intentional homicide with a domestic abuse modifier as well as multiple counts of recklessly endangering safety.

On July 30th, 2023, around 4:47am, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department Deputies responded to a house in Salem Lakes.

The caller stated her boyfriend set her on fire and needed help.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with severe burns.

Bowie was arrested about a month later in Chicago.

He remains in jail on a $500,000 bond.
