Twin Lakes Board Votes To Allow K9 Rex With Former Partner

TWIN LAKES, WI (WLIP)—The Twin Lakes Village Board has voted to allow K9 officer Rex to remain with his former partner at the Twin Lakes Police Department. However it will be a steep price to pay for that opportunity.
Officer Joe Patla and his family can keep Rex-for the purchase price of eighteen thousand dollars. Officer Patla decided to leave the department and offered to stay on part time to work with Rex at the department.
That offer was denied by the board last week, which initially voted to have Rex removed from Patla’s care. After a public outcry the board reversed the decision after a heated debate Monday night at a specially called meeting.
A Go Fund Me account has been established to help pay the costs related to keeping Rex.
