Two Arrested in Waukegan Shooting

(Waukegan, IL) Police in Waukegan say two people were arrested after a shooting that took place outside of a school. The incident took place just before 2 o’clock Monday afternoon along Belvidere Road.

Ricardo Perez and a 15-year-old male were said to get into a verbal argument, then they both pulled guns and fired at each other. The 27-year-old Perez was injured, and hospitalized…then charged with aggravated discharge and use of a firearm, as well as possession of a firearm by a felon.

The juvenile was charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

The incident took place while the nearby Menta Academy North was in session…but no one inside the building was hurt.
