Two Men Sentenced to Life in Prison for 2020 Kenosha Bar Shooting of 23-Year-Old Malik Boyd

Kenosha, WI (WLIP)–Two men convicted of killing 23-year-old Malik Boyd outside a Kenosha bar in February 2020 will spend their lives in prison without parole.

Michael T. Frazier, sentenced on Monday, August 26, 2024, and Shaquel B. Harris, sentenced in June 2023, were both found guilty of first-degree intentional homicide.

Boyd was shot in the neck after leaving the Rain Bar and Lounge around 2 a.m. on February 29, 2020, in what prosecutors believe was a case of mistaken identity.

Frazier, who had been assaulted months earlier by someone resembling Boyd, called Harris before the shooting, with security footage confirming the call.

Boyd’s family, deeply affected by his loss, urged the court for the maximum punishment, with the judge highlighting the senselessness of the crime.
